Hey people!!
11.25.03 (2:17 pm)   [edit]
I know, lame title for my subject line but my brain has turned to mush today from lack of sleep. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Apart from not having had a good night's sleep for the past week or so, this week hasn't started off too badly. Yesterday I received an early Christmas pressie from my mum - a lovely digital camera which is very cool!! :D I've been taking photos of everything in sight. As long as none of the pics are of me I'll be happy. I absolutely hate having my photo taken. I used to bunk off photo days at school and the ones I was there for are horrible and of course my mum insisted on buying them and putting them up in the sitting room for everyone to see. Yuck!!! :(

Today I received my Roswell calendar which is beautiful, especially the Candy page. The people behind the calendar have done a great job and it's even better knowing that a helluva lot of money has been raised for charity. :D

I finally finished my airline fic yesterday and after having tweaked it here and there, thanks to some suggestions from the RCWW gals, I posted it and it's received some great feedback which makes all the hard work so worth it.

I really wanted to have quite a lot of chapter 6 of my other fic written over the weekend but no such luck. I don't want to post the next part on the boards until I've got something written for chapter 6 otherwise I can see myself getting stuck.

Okay, I'm off to play with my new toy. See ya!!

Edited to add: Here's a piccie I took first thing this morning. Hope it looks okay.

Congrats En-ger-land!!!

Okay, I'm a day late but so what!! Yesterday England became the proud holders of the Rugby World Cup having beaten Australia 20-17. Our Johnny Wilkinson is being hailed as something of a hero for scoring the last minute extra time drop goal with only 20 seconds left to spare. The Aussies gave us a really good fight and, to be honest, I wasn't sure we were going to do it but I'm really happy we won. We never win anything in sport - well not often anyway - so this is a real celebration!! :D

Oh, I found out last week that I won another award for Tonight's The Night. It won the Best Romance award at the Alien Vibe Awards and as soon as I pick up the award I'll post it here. I wasn't expecting to win as it was up against some great fics but I'm pleased it did. The longer that story went on the harder it was to write so it's great that people like it enough to vote for it.

I've also been nominated for an award in the latest round of Antar's Finest for my fic Dressing Up is for Girls. There's no way in hell that'll win as I'm up against DocPaul's Hawk and a Handsaw which so deserves to win.

I've plotted out my fic for the Christmas/New Year Challenge at RCWW so I need to start writing that soon. I'm just starting to write chapter 6 of my First Time for Everything fic and hopefully that'll go well. I can't believe how much feedback the first three parts have received. I'm absolutely stunned and so grateful. A big thank you has to go to Vera for plugging it on her blog. :D

I went shopping today and bought a few more pressies. It's been raining since early this morning and a lot of the roads and pavements have been flooded. Janet and I were walking back to the car when this car came speeding down the road and went through a massive puddle and as a result I got completely soaked with nasty dirty water. Come on, stop laughing. You should have heard my language - I turned the air blue!

I've probably rambled on for long enough so I'll leave it there for now.

Laughter really is a form of medicine!

I watched Peter Kay's live DVD the other day and I laughed until I cried. By the time I'd stopped laughing the pain I'd been feeling in my gums had pretty much gone. I am determined to go and see Peter the next time he does a tour. He is absolutely amazing!

Janet's boyfriend, Rob, came round for dinner yesterday and it went pretty well. My mum and step-dad cooked a really nice roast dinner and we watched Only Fools and Horses on the TV. Maybe that sounds weird but he's a big fan of the show too and it made us all feel a bit more comfortable and it sort of broke the ice. Janet was really nervous before he arrived and I of course had to wind her up. LOL! I think she's very glad that's over with.

I'm doing pretty well with my current story and I'm almost finished with chapter 5. I broke my promise about not posting it on the boards until it was finished but the response I've had to the first part has been brilliant. :D Hopefully, that'll continue.

I received my CDs today and I have to say Busted's new album is wicked. I so can't wait to see them play live at Wembley in March. It's gonna rock.

I'm going to have an early night as I've got a busy day ahead shopping tomorrow.

Yeah I know, it sounds like a stupid question but I'm lying in bed at 4.40 am not able to sleep because of the pain I've got in my gums. I had the damn things out almost five years ago in hospital where I suffered a lovely reaction to the anaesthetic and had to be put on a drip so there's no way I want to go through all that again! I just want to get some sleep and I can't.

On a lighter note I've managed to finish another chapter of my brand new fic which I'm really happy about. I also amended the first 3 chapters to make it a bit more humorous so hopefully it works. I'm determined to finish it before I start posting on the boards but you never know with me. I get so eager to know what people think that I jump the gun and start posting and then lose my way with it. That's one of the good things about RCWW, you can post a story there and get a feel of what people think and then change parts with any suggestions that may come up.

Oh, I finally watched The Recruit at the weekend and WOW!! How sexy is Colin in the movie? I really enjoyed it but may have to re-watch it to make sure I didn't miss anything. LOL!!

I ordered Peter Kay's new DVD so hopefully that will come either today or tomorrow. I can't wait to watch it - he is such a funny guy! "Phone for ya!"

Janet's new bloke is coming round for Sunday dinner for the first time so that should be interesting. At least we get a roast with all the trimmings out of it which we haven't had for a while. Hopefully it'll go well.

Planning on going to Kingston on Tuesday to do some more Chrismas shopping. There's a massive shopping centre there so hopefully I'll find some more gifts for people.

I'm going to try and go back to sleep. Night all!

I'm Back!!!

It's been a while since my last post so I thought I'd better write something. Anything. :D

I haven't really been up to that much. I finally finished the Halloween fic I was working on and managed to get it done the night before. I really wasn't too sure about posting it as I thought it felt too rushed but the wonderful girls over at RCWW gave me the confidence boost I needed. I've actually re-read the finished story a few times now and I'm pretty happy with it.

I've come up with a new story and was about to start writing that one when another one popped into my head and before I knew it I'd written three chapters. That is so unlike me!

I'm still struggling with my elevator sequel fic - it's coming along pretty slowly but I'm determined to finish it.

The same goes with APR - my unfinished fic on the boards. Teresa has given me some terrific ideas for it so hopefully I can get my ass in gear and finish writing it.

I went Christmas shopping on Sunday and have actually bought most of the gifts for my family so I can breathe a sigh of relief. I've got more bits to get but at least I've got something for each of them. They are so hard to buy for!

I watched The Secret Life of Girls yesterday and was so pleased that the tape worked in my VCR. Val is an absolute diamond for sending it to me and I can't thank her enough. It's a really sweet film and Majandra puts in a great performance. :D

I also have to say thanks to Vera for sending me the VCDs of Roswell, Edge of Madness and the .avi file of Nemesis Game. I especially love Samuel Rising as it's got the scene that Sky cut out when they aired it. More M&M for me. :D

Oooh I ordered The Recruit last night and I can't wait to see that movie. Several people have told me it's great and that Colin Farrell looks especially hot in it so I decided to just go ahead and get it. While I was buying it I saw an add for Peter Kay's new live DVD of his 'Me Mum Wants A Bungalow Tour'. It comes out on Monday so I'm definitely getting it. He has me crying with laughter. :D

I guess my only gripe at the moment is that my family don't understand how or why I can spend so much time on the internet chatting to people I don't know. They think I am so weird but as I have made some terrific friends online I don't care what they think.

I've probably rambled on for long enough so I'll leave it there. :D
