I've just finished watching World Idol and I couldn't stop laughing. What the hell was that Polish judge on? :lol: He didn't have a good word to say about anybody except.....oh yeah! the Polish entry!
I thought Will did brilliantly. Light My Fire is one of my fave songs anyway and I know people will hate Will's version just because Jim Morrison is so revered but, I for one, am glad Will sang it for the show. He could have taken the easy route and sung Evergreen (which was ace too - and sold 1.5 million copies in its first week alone!) but he didn't. He chose a song that he knew would probably be criticised harshly. I personally don't think he'll be crowned World Idol but I'm proud of our boy!! :D I'm also happy that Simon Cowell stuck up for Will when that Polish judge slated him. I laughed my ass off when he said something about a tortoise doing a better job of judging.
I really liked Kelly (USA), Heinz (SA), Ryan (Canada) and Kurt (Norway). They along with Will were the stand out artists and I hope they do really well. I also thought that Guy (AUS) and Peter (Belgium) were good but I don't think they'll do as well.
Oh, earlier on I saw Busted on this TV variety show thing and they sang a wicked version of Hark The Herald Angels Sing. I loved the part where they ripped off their choirboy gowns and grabbed their guitars. Rock on babes!! :wink:
As is usual for me at Christmas, I ate a bit too much.....oh okay, a lot too much. I am so re-starting my diet after the holidays.

Merry Christmas everybody!! :D I hope you're all getting the presents you wanted.
I've just finished opening mine and I got a new mobile phone, a bottle of Beyond Paradise perfume which smells absolutely gorgeous, a shower radio, Pirates of the Caribbean on DVD and £100 in cash. I don't think I've done too badly this year. :lol: I also got the digital camera which was an early Christmas pressie as I couldn't resist playing with it when it arrived a few weeks ago.
I'm really looking forward to Christmas lunch as roast dinners (and especially roast potatoes) are one of my favourite things. Yummy!
There's some good stuff on TV tonight what with the final ever Only Fools and Horses, the first part of The Office and World Idol so I'm just gonna be lazy today and eat, drink and be merry. I think my VCR's gonna be busy though. :wink:

Once again, apologies for the lame subject title but I couldn't think of anything else. :roll:
So Michelle won Pop Idol! It's great that a) a girl has won it and b) that it's someone who isn't your "typical" pop idol. There's a bit of a furore at the moment because one of the judges (Pete Waterman) left as soon as the result was announced and refused to congratulate her. I personally think that he was incredibly rude and he shouldn't be a judge on the next series if he's going to be like that. IMO, it's basically a slap in the face for everyone who voted for her. He's been quoted as saying that no one will know who she is in a year's time and I really hope she proves him wrong and is as successful as Will Young is. That'll show the old cretin!
Okay, rant over!! :lol:
So, I've been in bed all day today feeling like crap. We had a Chinese takeaway last night and I felt really sick all through the night and didn't get any sleep. We got the food from the usual place so I don't know what was wrong, if anything, with it. It was probably just me or something.
I'm feeling better now which is good because I so don't want to be feeling sick over Christmas. That's happened to me before, usually when I've drank too much booze at the office Christmas party, and it sucks big time.
BTW, if you're reading this Vera, I hope you feel better soon. *hugs*
Okay, I'm off to try and get some more of my fics written. I'm so behind! :oops:

My Majandra and RoBERT concert tickets arrived today and I'm so happy and relieved. I was a bit worried that they'd go missing in the post or something so I was really pleased when the postman brought it this morning. It'll be my first time in Paris and I'm really looking forward to it even though I'm only staying for one night and so probably won't really have time for much sightseeing. I can't believe I'm finally going to see Majandra live in concert. Yay!! I'm also really excited about meeting the girls I've become friends with online for the first time. :D I can't wait!!
Tonight's the final of Pop Idol so I'll be watching that as well as putting up our Christmas decs. I can't help feeling that Mark will win even though Michelle's the favourite to grab the title. He's been the dark horse of this comp so who knows!! ;) It's just a shame some of the judges are being so nasty because the person they wanted to win went out last week. Damn sore losers!!
I'm feeling a lot better since my last blog which I'm really happy about. I had such a horrible case of the blahs and I'm glad to say they didn't last long. I want to give a big shout out to all the girls who posted messages at RCWW and CID and who sent me e-mails, PMs and posted messages here. Thank you all so much; all those messages made me feel so much better and it was nice knowing you were thinking of me. :D
Okay, I'm off to grab some dinner.

I don't know what's wrong with my lately but I just feel like crap!!! I don't think it's right to say I'm "depressed" as I know that there are people who suffer from real depression which can be very debilitating. I think I just have a general case of the "aaargh's"! That probably makes no sense whatsoever but I know what I mean so that's what counts, right?
I'm supposed to be completing a job application at the moment and all I've done so far is just add the personal info like name, address, date of birth, etc. I just can't seem to be arsed writing the personal statement or the part about the experience I have gained from my previous jobs. I just know I won't get this job so maybe that's why I can't be bothered doing it. I need to do something because I haven't worked for just over a year now and I'm feeling antsy. If I did get this job it'd be ideal as it's just up the road from where I live and I've got experience of most of the things they're looking for in an applicant. I've just got a bad feeling that they'll think I'm over-qualified. Whatever!!
I just feel so disillusioned with everything at the moment and I've got so much stuff I want to do right now. Firstly, writing my fics. I write them for pleasure but lately I seem to have lost that oomph which pushes me to write. I'm seriously thinking about taking a break from the net but I don't know. See! I'm just so aaargh at the moment.
One good thing I found out today was when I read Vera's blog and discovered that she received my pressie which is great news. For some reason I was worried it wouldn't get there or something.
I'm gonna go get some chocolate and see if that'll cheer me up!

The main reason I love the internet is because I've met so many great people online. I know that probably sounds kinda gushy but it's so true. In some ways I can "talk" to them more freely than I can my "real life" friends if that makes any sense.
I've just joined another message board and I've made some new friends over there which is really cool. It's called Eternally Yours and is owned by a great girl by the name of Ali. :D Just to let anyone know who's interested in checking it out, it's membership approved.
I posted Teresa and a couple of others' presents on Monday and I couldn't believe it when Teresa sent me a message on Tuesday telling me she'd received it. I sent my gifts early as we've had a few postal strikes in the UK and I didn't want there being a chance they would get delayed.
I received Teresa's present this morning and I was gobsmacked. I absolutely loved it as soon as I opened it and she knows me so well already to have bought me that book. I'd seen it in the shops but hadn't got around to buying it yet so I'm very grateful to her.
I haven't done much writing this week - I've got another case of writer's block which really sucks. Sherry's given me some help with the latest chapter of the current fic so hopefully I'll get some more written. There's no way I'm posting chapter 5 until chapter 6 is completely finished. And I haven't even started my Christmas fic. The rate I'm going I'll be lucky if it's finished by next Christmas. :cry:
I've actually been spending some time this week updating my CV which to be honest I should have done months ago. I e-mailed one of the girls I used to work with and she's confirmed I can use her and the senior partner as my referees which is great. :D I'm also planning on meeting up with her and some of the other girls in the New Year which I'm looking forward to.
Okay, it's getting late and I'm tired so I'm gonna get some sleep.
