So I haven't been online much today due to cleaning and catching up on watching 3 weeks worth of Angel. Anyway, I come online this evening and check my e-mail and I find a lovely surprise from Didi. She made me this beautiful new banner!! Heatwave has to be my absolute fave epi of Roswell so the banner is that little bit extra special. Thanks so much Didi. *hugs*
It finally snowed here yesterday for the first time. I looked out my window at about 5.30 pm and the entire sky had turned white and suddenly the snow started falling. It looked so pretty. We also had thunder and lightning which was kinda weird. It's been really sunny today and hopefully all the ice will melt.
I finally got all my cleaning finished today so now I can get on and do other stuff. I'm finally trying to put together an inventory of all my CDs which is taking ages. I've got over 1,000 so it's gonna take some time. I'm going to try and do a little bit each day and hopefully it'll be done before I know it. Yeah right! :wink:

I heard on the radio this morning that The Office scooped two Golden Globes for Best TV Comedy Series and Best Actor in a Comedy for Ricky Gervais. Woo-hooo!! :lol: I'm so glad the show is doing well overseas 'cos it really does rock. I know there are a lot of people who don't "get" it but it's just so funny. The last two episodes which aired here over Christmas are just classics and while it's a shame it's over, I'm sort of glad that it didn't run and run so that people ended up fed up with it.
I'm not feeling that well today which sucks. I woke up feeling icky but pushed myself to do some exercise. I would have liked to have done more but at least I did something which is better than nothing.
I went shopping yesterday to stock up on bits and pieces I needed and managed to buy almost everything on my list. I'm a bit annoyed with Boots though 'cos every time I go in there, no matter what day or at what time, they're always stacking shelves. I just think it's really unprofessional but that's just me. They always used to sell lots of travel sized bottles of shampoos, shower gels, etc, but now they only have limited stock. At least I was able to find what I wanted although it would have been cheaper to just buy a big bottle of the stuff and pour it into a small empty bottle. Now why couldn't I have thought of that yesterday, huh!
I always seem to be ranting. Apologies!! :oops:
The freezing cold weather we're supposed to be getting has already started. It is bitterly cold today and I haven't even gone outside. Apparently, we're expecting it to snow tonight or tomorrow so we can expect chaos on roads. I just hope it's not a repeat of this time last year when people were trapped in their cars for 7-8 hours or more.
Right, I'm off to find some warm PJ's for tonight. Now, where did I put those bed socks! :wink:

Yesterday was a good day 'cos my new power adaptor arrived for my laptop and it works. Yay!!! :lol: It's so nice having it back and being able to use MSN again. As soon as I was back on I had a nice convo with Sherry and Sanne.
So, Sherry and I finished the fic and we've had some really good comments from the girls at RCWW. We're not posting it yet - I think Val's next in line to post at CID - and not all of the girls have read it yet. We're sort of looking for confirmation that no one has a problem with it first. That may sound a bit confusing but you'll see why when it's posted. Cryptic or what! :wink:
I'm still exercising which I'm happy about. Almost two hours five days in a row is pretty good going for me. I haven't done any so far this morning but I'm planning to. I think if I do it every day there'll be less chance of me giving up.
I heard the brand new George Michael single yesterday called 'Amazing.' It's good but I don't think it's as brilliant as everyone's making out. It'll probably grow on me though by the time it's released. :)

I was so pissed off last night because my sister's laptop, which I bought off her a while ago, broke down. I think the power adaptor has gone which is what happened to my iBook last year. Unfortunately, unlike my iBook, her comp is a few years old and no longer under warranty.
Anyway, I found a website which sells parts for electrical items and they had an adaptor available which I've bought. I should be getting that sometime next week so *fingers crossed* that it'll work.
It just had to happen now though what with me co-writing the new story and Doc posting new parts of TDWNK. Luckily I was able to read the latest chapters and I'm sort of hoping that she doesn't post the next batch until sometime next week. :wink:
I also miss having Messenger but at least I've still got AIM on my iBook so I can at least chat with people on there.
I'm determined that once I'm working again and I've saved up some money, I'm going to have both PCs given a healthcheck and maybe even have them upgraded with the latest stuff.
Okay, rant over. :lol:
On a more positive note, I did my exercises this morning and I'm feeling pretty good. I hate actually having to do it but once it's over I'm glad I've done it. I'm still a little bit achey but nothing like yesterday.
I'm hoping that if I post about my exercises that it'll make me more determined to keep up with it. Yeah, we'll see how that goes! :roll:

I started seriously exercising yesterday and so today I've woken up all stiff and achey but I was really good and did more exercise this morning. I'm determined to get myself into shape this year and so far I haven't been that good. :( I start off okay but then get fed up and give up. I'm actually pretty pleased with what I did yesterday and today so hopefully *fingers crossed* I'll stick with it this time. I've got a few incentives what with Majandra's and Busted's concerts in Feb and March respectively as well as the job search. The other incentive is that the more I do, the less I'll ache. :lol:
I've been listening to quite a lot of new music lately and there's some pretty good stuff around at the moment. I think my favourite though has to be Real by Plumb. It's such an amazing song and I'm seriously thinking about getting their new album.

I've been writing more of my current fic which is great news as I was so stuck on it. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish and post the next chapter at RCWW in the next few days. I've received some really good feedback for part 5 and the current concensus is that I'm a tease!! Who me? :wink:

I got such a lovely surprise this morning when I checked my e-mail. I received an e-mail from Zia informing me that I'd won three - yes three - awards at Antar's Finest. I am so stunned because I really wasn't expecting to win anything this time round. The only one I thought I had a slight chance with was First Time for Everything because of the feedback I've received so far.
So, the awards were for:
Best Unfinished for First Time for Everything
Best Mature for Don't You Know Who I Am?
Best Author
The Best Author award is the one I think I'm the most amazed at. It's such a fantastic feeling knowing that people like what you do enough to vote for you in that category.
I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who reads my fics and who voted for me. It means so much to me. :D
I also want to say congratulations to the other winners and also to the nominees.
Hopefully, now I'll be able to write more for First Time... and get that finished. I'm gonna make a real effort today to get some written.
I've also starting writing a fic with another author but I'm not saying who it is 'cos we want to surprise people. If anyone from RCWW is reading this, then they'll probably know who it is as the idea was actually suggested on one of the threads. We're having a ball writing this fic and hopefully everyone who reads it will like it.

Yep, today was a good day for me writing wise. I haven't written anything for a while and I do feel guilty about that, especially about the current fic that's posted on the boards. I'm still stuck on chapter 6 but hopefully I'll get unstuck soon. :lol:
I'm really happy with what I've written so far of the new fic. I was writing it today while I was downloading one of Kerstin's music vids. They do take ages to dl but they are sooo worth it. The one I dl'ed today was the uncut Heatwave clip. Very hot!!
Oh, speaking of downloads I also dl'ed the clip from The Learning Curve that was uploaded over at KC. I've heard a couple of songs from that movie but I'm reluctant to buy the movie as the few people I know who've seen it have said it's not the best movie although Majandra's performance is really good.
So for those that are interested, here's a little snippet from the new fic:

They stood there for some time just holding on tightly to each other. After a while Maria moved back a little so she could look into his face and seeing all the love he felt for her etched on his face she moved forward again and captured his lips with hers. This time there was no hesitation on Michael’s part and he kissed her back passionately. Bringing his hands up from her waist he cradled her face between his palms before entangling them in her silky soft hair.[/i]
I've got a fair bit written so far but I've still got a way to go before I'll post it. It's only gonna be a one-parter but I'm just glad I'm writing again 'cos I really enjoy it.
Hopefully, now that I'm writing again I'll find I can finish off all those outstanding fics I've got. Don't hold me to that though. :wink:
Anyway, it's been a long day so I'm going to get ready for bed and I'll do some reading. Oooh I didn't read today's paper and I have to read Ally Ross' column. He is so damn funny!! :lol:

I woke up this morning with a killer sore throat which is just such a great way of starting the new year. :( Janet's had a really bad sore throat and cough for the past couple of weeks and I think she finally passed it on to me. I guess the only up side of not feeling well now is that it's before I seriously start the job search and that it's before I go to Paris.
So Kurt won World Idol. I was actually pleased he won until he started slagging Will off to anyone who'd listen. See that's where the difference lies; Will is a gentleman and he's never slagged off anyone. He knows he doesn't have to resort to that type of behaviour just to get in the papers or on the news.
Some people are saying that Kurt only won because people felt sorry for the way the judges picked on him about his looks. I hope that's not why he won because otherwise he won for all the wrong reasons. I still think he had one of the best voices out of all the singers who took part.
It's also been reported that Will was slammed by some of the other judges for not taking the competition seriously. To be honest, if he didn't take it seriously I don't really blame him. Deep down he probably knew he wasn't going to win because a lot of the voting is political. Countries giving points to their European cousins and the like. Just like the Eurovision Song Contest. We'll probably be getting Nil points again this year because of our association with the US over the war.
Okay, rant over. No doubt anyone reading this is gonna think this is sour grapes because the UK didn't win. Just for the record it's not because I didn't think Will would win anyway. I figured that either Kelly or Kurt would win.
I've come up with a new idea for a fanfic which is sort of a reverse of Heatwave if that makes any sense but is set during S3. I've just got a basic idea at the moment so who knows if it'll ever get written. I'm so far behind on my existing stories I feel like crying. :cry:
Right, I'm off to get a hot drink.

I found out when I went over to EY this morning that I've been crowned December's Posting Queen!! Yay!! I really wasn't expecting to win but a few days ago Ali PM'ed me and told me that I was in second place so after that I started posting like crazy. :lol: I never win anything so I'm really glad I won this and it's a cool way of starting 2004. I can't wait to see my Posting Queen blinkie once it's been set up.
I didn't do anything last night for New Year's Eve. I may sound weird or sad but I'm not a big fan of it. I stayed at home with my family and had a quiet night in and saw in the New Year that way.
Anyway, I've made a couple of resolutions but no doubt I won't stick to them as usual. :wink: I'm gonna do my best though to try this year.
