OMG!! I met Majandra!!!
02.29.04 (1:36 pm) [edit]
Okay, this is just a fly by as it's getting late and it's been a long day.
Last night I, together with the other girls in the group I met up with, met Majandra Delfino and she signed my magazine for me. She is even more stunning in real life and is such a lovely person. She spent absolutely ages after the concert chatting to the fans and signing pics, CDs, etc.
Here's a pic of the autograph she gave me:

I'll be back tomorrow with more info!!

I'm so excited!!!
02.26.04 (11:31 pm) [edit]
I can't believe that this time tomorrow I will be on my way to Waterloo station to catch the Eurostar to Paris. I am so excited!! It seems like only yesterday that I was anxiously waiting for the concert tickets to arrive and thought that they'd probably got lost in the post. Thank God that didn't happen!!
I started getting my stuff together last night but I've still got so much to do today. Apparently, the weather is freezing in Paris - not unlike the UK then  - so I'm going to be dressing warmly. Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who catch colds at the drop of a hat so I'm not taking any chances by wearing clothes that'll have me freezing my ass off!
As well as being excited about seeing Mo performing, I'm really excited to be meeting the girls I've made friends with online. It'll be great putting faces to all those names. :D
I'm also looking forward to seeing the finished fanbook and the gift basket that's being put together for Mo. I'm so glad I was able to find what I was after for the basket.
Anyway, this is gonna be my last post for a few days. Hopefully, I'll have some cool pics to share when I get back.

The post office sucks!
02.24.04 (7:25 am) [edit]
Whaddya know, I'm complaining again. I received the second part of Teresa's present this morning: a lovely box of choccies. She told me that she sent that at the same time as the other present which I received the next day yet this one I got three days later. Okay, not a huge difference but still. :?
Oh, I meant to post this the other night but forgot. Busted are this week's No. 1 with 'Who's David'. I'm so happy and it tops off a wicked week for them after scooping two Brit awards. I received my CDs this morning and one of them is the 'Who's David' single which features their version of 'Teenage Kicks' as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video. :D
I'm supposed to be cleaning today but I can't be arsed. I did my sister's room yesterday which knackered me out but I'll definitely do my rooms before I go on my trip this weekend. I promise!
Speaking of which, I can't believe how quickly that's come round. I'm really excited but also a little bit nervous which is stupid I know. I'm sure I'll be fine once I'm there and have met all the other girls who are going.
I've been watching the extras on my Roswell DVD and I have to say that Mo and Shiri's commentaries are very funny. I especially love the way they poke fun at Brendan's hair as well as the other guys on the show. Colin Hanks is looking pretty different with his shaggy hair and beard but he still looks pretty good IMO. His comments in the Making Of... featurette are really good too.
I'm so pleased that my copy of the DVD arrived without any problems. I've been reading comments from people over at Doc's group where they've received two copies of the same disc in their sets. It looks as though Amazon have had a faulty batch sent to them as most of the people experiencing problems received theirs from that supplier.
I really can't wait for Season 2 to be released. Hopefully, we'll get even more extras on that and I'm really hoping that Brendan will be involved in future commentaries. It'd be cool if he and Majandra did one together but I don't think we'd be that lucky.
As it's Shrove Tuesday today, I'm off to make some pancakes.

I need more sleep!!
02.21.04 (11:09 pm) [edit]
I don't know what's wrong with me lately but I'm having real trouble sleeping and am so tired all the time. I'm one of those people that loves my bed and sleeping so I hate feeling like this. :( In order to drop off at night, I've been sleeping with the radio on which does seem to be helping but I don't want to always have to do that.
On a lighter note, I've been watching my Joan of Arc VCDs and I just love this show. It's so different from any of the shows we have on British TV and I really hope one of our TV stations picks it up. I think the casting is terrific and Joe Mantegna is one of my fave actors.
I'm going shopping today to buy a few bits and pieces for my trip next weekend. I especially need to get my gift for Mo's gift basket. I just hope they have what I'm after.
Right, let's get some brekkie!

It's my birthday and I'll cry if I want to!
02.21.04 (2:05 am) [edit]
I'm sorry but I couldn't resist using that as the subject for this entry.
I haven't actually got any presents to unwrap, with the exception of Vera's chocolates, as my mum and stepdad gave me money which I received a couple of weeks ago so I could convert into Euros and my sister hasn't bought me a damn thing! She didn't even give me a card saying that she's left it in her desk at work. Yeah, right! :( She just came into my room to let me know she's off to the Red Cross shop she volunteers at and she was holding wrapped presents in her hands. I got a bit excited for a second thinking she was teasing me about not having bought me anything until she told me they are for one of the women at the shop whose birthday was yesterday. How thoughtful of her! Can you just feel the sarcasm rolling off my tongue.
Anyway, I received a really sweet e-card from my best friend Satti who now lives in New York with her husband.
I also received this card from Vera this morning which I absolutely love. This is definitely one of my fave Candy/Egyptian pics. Thanks sweetie. *hugs*
[image]candyspark_1670127 80.jpg[/image]
I got a nice surprise when the postman called this morning. Not only did he leave a card telling me my Roswell DVD has arrived and that I can go and collect it from the main sorting office, but I got a lovely present from Teresa too. She sent me a selection of Season 2 Roswell photographs which includes my Candy couple. I've also got that hot pic of Michael in jail. Yummy!! Thanks babe. *hugs*
This just shows how wonderful the people you meet online can be. :D
Anyway, I guess I should be getting up now.
[b]Edited to add:[/b] I just received this gorgeous card from Zia. Thank you so much. *hugs*

I am definitely being spoilt with Candy today.

Surprise Surprise!!
02.19.04 (10:02 am) [edit]
So I got a lovely surprise this morning when the postman called. Vera had sent me a birthday present and, me being me, I couldn't resist opening it. I was totally and utterly gobsmacked when I opened the box. She had sent me VCDs of Joan of Arcadia, which is a show we don't get in the UK, as well as the episode of Boston Public featuring Majandra and some German chocolate.
I'm saving the chocolate for Saturday, although I'm sorely tempted to open it now. LOL!!
I'm disappointed that I can't open the BP ep or the JoA pilot as these are avi files and my damn PC can't play them. I can't wait to start earning again so I can either upgrade or buy a brand new PC with all the latest features/software.
All the other JoA eps work fine and I have to say I love this show. I can see why so many people are fans of it. I really hope we get it over here eventually.
The O.C. is another one I want to see and I found out last week that it's coming to E4 soon. Yay!! All I need now is for one of the stations to confirm they've got the rights to S3 of Alias. My fingers are crossed for that one.
Anyway, if you're reading this Vera, I just want to tell you again that you're an absolute star for helping me feel happier at a time when things aren't going so well. *hugs*
The people I know in real life think I'm weird for spending so much time online but the friends I've made via the internet mean so much to me and I think I'd be lost without them. Whether it's chatting on MSN or AIM, sending PMs or just chatting over the message boards, I've gotten to know some awesome people who have really boosted me when I've felt low and hopefully I've helped them feel better too when they're down.
Okay, I'm off to watch more JoA. :D

And The Winners Are...
02.17.04 (2:19 pm) [edit]
I've just finished watching The Brits 2004 and I have to say that this year's ceremony was awesome and outshone last year's by a mile.
Here are the winners:
Best British Male: Daniel Bedingfield Best British Female: Dido Best British Group: The Darkness Best British Rock Act: The Darkness Best British Pop Act: Busted Best British Breakthrough: Busted Best British Single: Dido ~ White Flag Best British Album: Permission to Land ~ The Darkness Best British Urban Act: Lemar Best British Dance Act: Basement Jaxx Best International Male: Justin Timberlake Best International Female: Beyonce Knowles Best International Group: The White Stripes Best International Breakthrough: 50 Cent Best International Album: Justified ~ Justin Timberlake Outstanding Contribution to Music: Duran Duran
I'm so happy my boys Busted won two Brits!! And their live performance of 'Teenage Kicks' rocked.
One of the best collaborations tonight had to be Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani and Missy Elliot's version of 'Kiss'.
Other collaborations included Beyonce with OutKast which was really good and Jamie Cullum and Katie Melua. I'm not really into jazz music but they were great.
It's getting late and I've got a headache from all the headbanging I've done tonight thanks to The Darkness  so I'm off to bed.

Me again!!
02.17.04 (6:40 am) [edit]
I was just over at Majandra's thread at MediaBlvd and read a post by [b]candymagda[/b] giving a link to the official "Celeste in the City" website. I checked it out and I have to say it's pretty cool. Mo looks absolutely stunning and it's made me want to see the movie even more. Unfortunately, unless ABC releases it on video or DVD I doubt I will because we don't get that channel in the UK (or at least I don't). :(
If you want to check the site out, you can find it here:

Janet just sent me this really funny e-mail so I thought I'd share. I love stuff like this. :)
[b]Memo to All Staff
Swearing at work.. [/b]
It has been brought to management's attention that some individuals throughout the company have been using foul language during the course of normal conversations with their co-workers.
Due to complaints received from some employees who may be easily offended, this type of language will no longer be tolerated. We do, however, realise the critical importance of being able to accurately express your feelings when communicating with co-workers.
Therefore, a list of "TRY SAYING" new phrases has been provided so that proper exchange of ideas and information can continue in an effective manner without risk of offending our more sensitive employees.
TRY SAYING: Perhaps I can work late.
INSTEAD OF: And when the f*ck do you expect me to do this?
TRY SAYING: I'm certain that isn't feasible.
INSTEAD OF: No f*cking way
TRY SAYING: Really?
INSTEAD OF: You've got to be sh*tting me!
TRY SAYING: Perhaps you should check with...
INSTEAD OF: Tell someone who gives a f*ck.
TRY SAYING: I wasn't involved in the project.
INSTEAD OF: It's not my f*cking problem.
TRY SAYING: That's interesting.
INSTEAD OF: What the f*ck?
TRY SAYING: I'm not sure this can be implemented.
INSTEAD OF: This f*cking sh*t won't work.
TRY SAYING: I'll try to schedule that.
INSTEAD OF: Why the f*ck didn't you tell me sooner?
TRY SAYING: He's not familiar with the issues.
INSTEAD OF: He's got his f*cking head up his a$$.
TRY SAYING: Excuse me, sir?
INSTEAD OF: Listen f*ckface.
TRY SAYING: So you weren't happy with it?
INSTEAD OF: Kiss my f*cking a$$.
TRY SAYING: I'm a bit overloaded at the moment.
INSTEAD OF: F*ck it, I'm on a salary.
TRY SAYING: I don't think you understand.
INSTEAD OF: Shove it up your a$$.
TRY SAYING: I love a challenge.
INSTEAD OF: More f*cking sh*t to do.
TRY SAYING: You want me to take care of that?
INSTEAD OF: Who the hell died and made you boss?
TRY SAYING: I see.
INSTEAD OF: Blow me.
TRY SAYING: I think you could use more training.
INSTEAD OF: You don't know what the f*ck you're doing.
ROTFALMAO!!

Who's David?!!
02.16.04 (1:35 pm) [edit]
This has got to be one of my favourite tracks on Busted's current album, 'A Present For Everyone'. In fact, the whole album is awesome. Very tongue in cheek and pretty different from their debut IMO.
[i]Who's David
You've always been this way since high school Flirtatious and quite loud I find your sense of humour spiteful It shouldn't make you proud
And I know your pretty face gets far with guys But your make up ain't enough to hide the lies
Are you sure That you're mine Aren't you dating other guys You're so cheap and I'm not blind You're not worthy of my time
Somebody saw you sleep around the town And I've got proof because the words going around Don't know you
You left your phone so I invaded I hated what I saw You stupid lying ***** who's David? Some guy who lives next door So go live in the house of David if you like But be sure he don't know Peter, John or Mike
Are you sure That you're mine Aren't you dating other guys You're so cheap and I'm not blind You're not worthy of my time
Somebody saw you sleep around the town And I've got proof because the words going around Don't know you
And I know That you try To break me into pieces And I know That you lie But you can't hurt me now I'm over you
Are you sure That you're mine Aren't you dating other guys You're so cheap and I'm not blind You're not worthy of my time
Somebody saw you sleep around the town And I've got proof because the words going around Don't know you
Don't like you Don't know you [/i]
They're actually nominated in three categories at tomorrow night's Brit Awards. I'm really looking forward to seeing them perform live and I hope they win at least one award. I really think they deserve to come away with something.
Good luck lads!!! :D
[image]candyspark_1087678 702.jpg[/image]
I'm also hoping that Will Young scoops Best British Male 'cos he's done brilliantly since winning Pop Idol. If he doesn't win it, then I'm hoping it'll be Daniel Bedingfield.
Oh btw, I picked up my Euros today. I'm getting more excited by the day.

Happy Birthday Munchkin!!
02.14.04 (11:08 pm) [edit]
It's Janet's (my sister's) birthday today so many happy returns of the day. :D We actually celebrated it yesterday as she's going ice skating with some friends today and then going drinking. Let's hope she does it in that order and not the other way around. I think drunk ice skating would be funny to watch though.
It's weird that although she's two years younger than me, her birthday is six days before mine. I think she was born early and my mum says that she's been impatient ever since. LOL!!
Still no luck on the job front which is pretty depressing. There is absolutely nothing in the local paper or in any of the job papers. Once I've got my Paris trip out of the way I really need to buckle down and sort myself out.
On a happier note, I received an e-mail on Friday from Amazon telling me that my Roswell DVD box set has been shipped. Yay!! I probably won't receive it for another week or so but at least it's on it's way. I'm really hoping it comes before my birthday. That'll make my day. Oh and I've heard a rumour that the Season 2 box set will be released around August this year. I wasn't expecting it to be so soon but I ain't complaining. I definitely need a job to pay for all these things.
I actually managed to finish my 'reverse Heatwave' fic on Friday and posted it on the boards. I'm really pleased with the fb I've gotten and a few people have mentioned the reverse thing which is pretty much what I wanted.
I can't believe the Paris concert is just under two weeks away. I'm getting more and more excited as each day passes.
Edited to add: I just found this really cool Ben & Jerry's fanlisting and if you're a fan of their ice cream, you might want to join. My favourite flavours are Chubby Hubby, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Chocolate Fudge Brownie. Yummy!! My mouth's watering at just the thought of them.

The fl's called Icecream Cows and you can find the link on the left-hand side of this page.

Happy Monday!!
02.09.04 (6:54 am) [edit]
I've just added another new banner which Teresa made for me. Thanks sweetie, I love it. *hugs* This time it's an Egyptian theme which probably makes no sense at all unless you're a Brendan and Majandra fan.
I had a nice surprise when I woke up this morning and checked my e-mail. I found out that DocPaul had posted the first three chapters of 'The Day We Never Kissed - Season 3'. I love this story so much and I'm so excited about this season. I can't wait to read the next batch of chapters.
I've been pretty busy the last few days and yesterday was nice in that I got to relax and chill out. I actually ended up watching several episodes of Roswell which I hadn't done for ages.
I got an early birthday present today in the form of cash which is definitely good. I'm going to the Post Office tomorrow to change it into Euros for my trip in just under 3 weeks time.
I'm also relieved that I finished my contribution for Majandra's fan book and posted it on Friday. Hopefully, Didi will receive it this week.
I'm really happy too that Laurence was able to find me a copy of the new Arthelius magazine which has Majandra and RoBERT on the cover. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get them to sign that for me.
I haven't done much writing this last week or two but hopefully that'll change soon. I keep saying that and nothing happens so who knows!! I wouldn't recommend anyone holds their breath waiting for me to post anything.
Oh and how weird is this! I was surfing the TV channels earlier on today and put on Sky One which was showing The Sharon Osbourne Show which I've never ever watched before. Anyway, who was one of her guests today? Dianne Farr who played Amy Deluca in Roswell. I just thought it was a little spooky that's all!

LMAO all afternoon!!
02.03.04 (2:02 pm) [edit]
I received my American Pie 3 DVD this morning and I managed to watch it this afternoon and OMG!! How funny is it! My favourites in this trilogy have to be Nos. 2 and 3. Stifler is just [i]the[/i] best character. The dance-off in the gay club was hilarious.
Sherry and I posted our part of the round robin this afternoon on CID and hopefully everyone will like it.
I decided to quit a couple of the boards that I mod at mainly due to try and focus on other things I need to do.
I'm feeling really guilty in that I haven't written any more of the current fic. I've just been swamped with other stuff but hopefully I'll be able to sit down soon and concentrate on getting the next part done.
